“Seymour Stein was a true Music Man. He “got” the music that was coming out of the UK in the punk and new wave years in a way that no other American deal maker did, and those artists went on to become the foundation for so much that followed. His unique and maverick arrangements with Warners provided an indie-leaning platform for many of our early American licences, including the platinum albums by Modern English and The Cult. His energy in flying anywhere at zero notice to see something special, and his stamina even in later years on the floors and streets of conventions and conferences, combined with his appreciation of the good life, should inspire us all.”
