The Beggars Group of Labels (4AD, Matador Records, Rough Trade Records, XL Recordings and Young) is excited to announce the addition of four new staff members and a brand-new department. Please join us in welcoming Max Datner, Ariana Mamnoon, Rrita Hashani and Molly McGuffin.
As phrases like “marketing” and “radio” have evolved over the last couple of years, we have found it beneficial to redefine what those kinds of roles mean for us in today’s music industry. As we embark on massive album campaigns for Queens Of The Stone Age, Erykah Badu, Fontaines D.C., Julia Jacklin and more, this is the perfect time to expand with new roles that dedicated to identifying modern and creative ways to champion both established and new artists.
The two new RADIO AND MUSIC DISCOVERY roles are collaborative positions newly established at Beggars and their shared team efforts will provide promotion avenues for the label artists via a wide variety of media formats.
MAX DATNER (he/him) joins Beggars as DIRECTOR OF RADIO AND MUSIC DISCOVERY. He was previously at Nettwerk Music Group where he was Manager of National Promotion. Prior to that, he was a radio promoter with The Planetary Group. He has been working in radio since 2014 and is also a musician. Max is responsible for leading our efforts in the promotion of emerging and established artists across multiple formats which include radio and radio-adjacent media. He will lead campaigns in collaboration with the labels to ensure each campaign is thoughtful, strategic and tailored to each artist’s identity. Based on the East Coast, he will oversee the department and be focused on traditional radio campaigns at Non-Comm and Commercial formats.
ARIANA MAMNOON (she/her) joins as MANAGER OF RADIO AND MUSIC DISCOVERY. She was previously with Stone’s Throw in the role of Radio & Brand Partnerships Coordinator. Prior to that, she was promotions Director at UCLA Radio and a freelancer handling press and radio campaigns. She is the co-host of “Temporal Cove” on NTS Radio with and a member of the three-piece project untitled (halo). Ariana is based in the Los Angeles Beggars office and specializes in music discovery with new and emerging outlets along with established internet stations.
The two new marketing new roles are based in the New York office, and both team members will report to our London-based Global Head Of Marketing, MATT HENRY. They join the rest of the US Marketing team which includes PABLO DOUZOGLOU (Head of Commercial Marketing and Operations) and DYLAN CAMERON (Creative Web Designer).
RRITA HASHANI (she/her) joins the Marketing department as AUDIENCE & MARKETING DIRECTOR. She will work directly with our labels, artists and artist teams to drive digital strategy. She joins us from Columbia Records, where she worked as Digital Marketing Manager leading Tame Impala to #5 on the Hot 100. Prior to that, she was with FADER label and The Orchard in similar roles. Her wealth of experience running complex digital-first campaigns will benefit us as she will be the first point of contact for US Marketing needs alongside our international colleagues.
MOLLY MCGUFFIN (they/them) joins us as SOCIAL CONTENT PRODUCER. Working across the marketing and content teams, Molly will plan, shoot and edit video for social media and short form accounts. Working closely with the marketing team along with the labels and our in-house content department, they will ensure that artist campaigns are set up and delivered successfully. They join us after a number of editing roles and recently obtained a film degree from UC Irvine. They are also a photographer, filmmaker and volunteer, and only time will tell if their claim of being weirdly good at Guitar Hero is true.
