XL's Vampire Weekend wins GRAMMY®

Vampire Weekend kicked off 2014 in style last night when their third studio album, Modern Vampires of the City (XL Recordings), took home the GRAMMY® for Best Alternative Music Album. This was Vampire Weekend’s second GRAMMY® nomination and their first win.

Modern Vampires of the City and its singles have landed on countless best-of 2013 lists across the country. Highlights include #1 Album of the Year from Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, USA Today and the NPR readers poll along with the designation of Band of the Year from SPIN.

Last week, Vampire Weekend took to the stage on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to perform their single “Unbelievers” which is currently top 10 on the alternative radio chart. Video of this performance is now able to be viewed via YouTube.

Ezra Koenig, Rostam Batmanglij, Chris Baio and Chris Tomson will celebrate the win with their fans as they continue to tour in support of Modern Vampires. Recently announced dates include stops in South America, the southern United States and a headlining slot at New York City’s Governors Ball Music Festival in June.
