Press release: Sasquatch Festival features many Beggars Group artists 4 February 2014

The Sasquatch Festival today announced their 2013 lineup, which includes numerous artists on our labels. For the first weekend in May, we have The National (4AD), Queens Of The Stone Age (Matador), tuNe-YaRdS (4AD), and Houndmouth (Rough Trade). Playing the July dates are: The Horrors (XL), Kurt Vile (Matador), Palma Violets (Rough Trade), and Majical Cloudz (Matador).

Press release: XL's Vampire Weekend wins GRAMMY®31 January 2014

Vampire Weekend kicked off 2014 in style last night when their third studio album, Modern Vampires of the City (XL Recordings), took home the GRAMMY® for Best Alternative Music Album. This was Vampire Weekend’s second GRAMMY® nomination and their first win.

Modern Vampires of the City and its singles have landed on countless best-of 2013 lists across the country. Highlights include #1 Album of the Year from Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, USA Today and the NPR readers poll along with the designation of Band of the Year from SPIN.

Last week, Vampire Weekend took to the stage on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to perform their single “Unbelievers” which is currently top 10 on the alternative radio chart. Video of this performance is now able to be viewed via YouTube.

Ezra Koenig, Rostam Batmanglij, Chris Baio and Chris Tomson will celebrate the win with their fans as they continue to tour in support...

Press release: 4AD expands US team15 January 2014

4AD announces the expansion of their US team with the addition of Carrie Tolles, who joins as VP of Public Relations. Tolles brings eight years of experience from her time with Brooklyn-based PR firm Shore Fire Media. She led the press campaign that launched the careers of Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and has worked with a diverse group of artists including Bon Iver, Mavis Staples, Grizzly Bear, St. Vincent and Neko Case.

Over the past five years, 4AD has released boundary-pushing albums by The National, Deerhunter, Scott Walker, Ariel Pink, Purity Ring and more. These artists added to the label’s long musical history and joined the back catalog that includes albums by The Cocteau Twins, Pixies, Dead Can Dance and Throwing Muses. 2014 is set to be another breakthrough year for the label with upcoming releases by Grimes, tUnE-yArDs and SOHN plus some exciting new signings.
