Press release: Beggars Group Earns Place In Sunday Times HSBC International Track 10013 July 2010

The Sunday Times yesterday published their inaugural International Track 100 league table. Sponsored by HSBC, compiled by Oxford-based research and networking events company Fast Track and published in The Sunday Times Business supplement, the table is open to companies who are registered in the UK and are independent, unquoted and ultimate holding companies. Companies were ranked on their compound annual growth rate in international sales over the latest two years.

The Beggars Group were the only music company listed in the 100, ranking at 36, recognising the Group’s 84.27% growth in international sales from £5.7m in 2006 to £19.2m in 2008. It was also one of only a handful of media companies to appear in the list.

Press release: Haiti Six Months On11 July 2010

The devastating earthquake that struck Haiti on 12 January 2010 killed 230,000 people and left another 1.5 million homeless will be six months ago on the 12th of July.

The Beggars Group last year saw 4AD release the charity compilation, Dark Was The Night, to much success. More details on the release here. They helped raise in excess of $1 million for the Red Hot Organization, a AIDS awareness charity who also have close links to Haiti. Of the proceeds, they issued a $150,000 emergency grant within days for the not-for-profit organisation, Partners In Health, to use in their efforts to provide immediate assistance to the people of Haiti in the aftermath of the earthquake.

In addition, along with other artists and labels, the Beggars Group donated unique items for an appeal by Oxfam to help them with an eBay auction for funds to help their work in Haiti, raising...

Press release: Beggars Group USA Staff Changes16 June 2010

Beggars Group USA today announce the appointment of Matt Harmon to President, following the departure of former CEO of North America Lesley Bleakley. Bleakley’s decision to step down follows her intended one year sabbatical in Vietnam. She has now decided to stay in that country for family reasons.
