Press release: The Beggars Group Announces New Licensing Director 8 July 2016

The Beggars Group of Labels is excited to announce a new staff member in the US.

Abby Rubin has joined as Licensing Director. She joins Beggars from Vice Media, where she was a Rights Management Specialist and handled global outgoing licensing of Vice digital content. She also acted as the Music Coordinator for several of Viceland’s original series and specials.

Abby will be based out of the New York Beggars Group office and will handle all US licensing for advertisements, video games and branded content. She joins Miwa Okumura, who is the Senior VP of Licensing, handling film & tv licensing from the West Coast office.

Good morning. This may be your last Tuesday morning in Europe.

Forgive the simplistic statement – the important message is that the opinion polls now indicate that Thursday’s vote could take us on a one-way road OUT of Europe.

First and foremost we are writing to urge you to vote on Thursday, but also to consider all of the issues carefully. We believe a victory for Brexit would be economically, politically, socially and culturally disastrous – for all of us.

Many of you will be travelling to Glastonbury on Thursday, the day of the vote. To us, Glastonbury embodies the inclusiveness that a Brexit vote seeks to reject.

No-one thinks the EU is perfect. It’s undeniably flawed. But when your family is imperfect, you don’t abandon...


Press release: Congrats to our A2IM Libera award winners17 June 2016

On June 16th, more than 500 independent-music luminaries packed Manhattan Center’s Grand Ballroom to honor the past year’s trailblazing independent artists and labels during A2IM’s fifth annual Libera Awards.

Our labels won three awards: Matador Recording artists Savages won the “Into The Pit” award. Young Turks’ Jamie xx won “Shifting Beats”, and 4AD’s Grimes won “Video of the Year – Fan Vote” for “Kill V. Maim”.
